Kawau Island 2014
Today was a lot windier than Tuesday which made it a lot easier to go faster. As Peter explained the rules again for the double and single sailors, we finally got our coloured boats into the dark blue choppy water.
James and I were speeding ahead towards Mrs Knowles, pulling the rope tight and aiming the tiller forward to where we wanted to go.
After a short time of cutting through the sharp white capped waves we came to Mrs Knowles and she told us to turn around.
Pulling the tiller to the sail and changing sides with our backs to the wind, James and I made a successful turn without capsizing. We were then told to go back towards the red playground. On and on we went back and forth, back and forth until something very funny happened.....
Declan made a sharp turn at high speed and a big gust of wind took his boat out from underneath him sending him backwards and tipping his boat.
"That was by far the funniest thing i've ever seen today" I yelled across the water to James.
Great detail in this writing Henri. Well done. I enjoyed reading this.
