                                                    Cross Country

My heart was racing, my muscles were tense and all I could think about was when it was my race. I felt like my brain was going to explode. I was so nervous, butterflies were flying circles in my stomach.

It was time; all I could hear was Mrs. Boodles voice saying,

“Come with me year eights”.
We all walked slowly over to the starting platform. I could tell everyone was nervous and no one was ready for this race. The nerves were like a storm cloud stretching over us all making us all miserable.

The wait to start seemed to take a lifetime.

“On your marks, get set, BANG!” Mrs. Boodle yelled and banged her two wooden planks together then we were off.

Kaylee and I were at the front as we ran around the crystal blue lake, with Alice at our heels.

We ran for what felt like forever! The finish line was finally in sight so I sprinted as fast as my legs would take me and saw Alice there cheering me on.

It was over and I was so glad but I was mostly proud of Alice for coming first.

I had an amazing time at Kawau Island this year. It was the best camp ever and we did lots of great activities like sailing, kayaking, fishing, raft building and bivouac building.
My favourite activity had to be fishing. It was really fun, and exciting and I caught lots of fish.
I also really enjoyed the sailing. I had a blast sailing because I learned a lot and it was really exciting when the wind picked up!
Even though it was my final camp at St Peter's Catholic, it was my favourite camp ever!

Work Day at Rouge

The moment had finally come. Alice and I were finally at Work Day. My legs felt like jelly, I couldn't breathe and my heart was beating at a million miles an hour. I stumbled into Rouge cafe with Alice at my heels, watching my every step.

Next thing I knew we were  in a small, cramped, stuffy and extremely hot room washing and drying burning hot dishes that peeled the skin of our hands and turned our fingers bright red.

Three hours had past - only three to go. My hands still burning but luckily Alice and I had stopped for a Sushi breake, where we were catching up with Kaylee for lunch.

It had now been five hours - only one to go! I was so relived that our day of work was almost done. My legs were aching and Alices hands were tomato red and covered in blisters. I couldn't wait to go home.

Ever though we did go home in pain, I had such a fun time and it was a great experience.

Whangamata

Hi room 6. During the summer holidays, my family, Alice and I went to Whangamata. We had a blast! We stayed in our family batch.
The weather was amazing; it was hot 24/7.
We swam, explored, played mini golf, went to the movies and lots more!
